FAQ: What other software can I use to manage maps, waypoints, tracks and routes?

You can only upload maps from MapSource, but Garmin is not the only source for maps (see the FAQ above).

Most GPS software supports the GPS V for managing waypoints, tracks and routes, since the GPS V is compatible to the NMEA standard. There are two kinds of GPS software, the ones with maps and the ones without maps. One of the mapping programs is OziExplorer, you can import raster maps, calibrate them and import/export waypoints, tracks and routes. There are more non-mapping programs than mapping programs, to name a few: G7toWin, Gartrip and EasyGPS.
