FAQ: Are there special key combinations I can use?Yes, there are. If you press the following combinations while turning the power on, you get access to special screens/functions:
 | Holding  , then powering up the Quest with  will show the diagnostic screen (shown here on the left). Pressing  will cycle through more screens, some of which are shown below. |  | On this screen you can play all audio phrases, which can ofcourse only be heard when connected to the 12v speaker cradle. |  | Various screens show moving lines, all white/black/color pages, to test for hot pixels, etcetera |  | A screen showing all possible colors. |
Another shortcut is to press twice to get the backlight on, where once only displays the backlight/contrast menu. And +  shuts off Quest if it locks up. Both are in the manual though. =8-) Another special key combination is the master reset, which should only be used after consulting Garmin Support: + + . This will reset the Quest completely and it will think it is in Taiwan, knowing no satellites at all. So getting a fix will take quite a bit longer than normal and all settings are gone!
