I got this Islas canarias version from Manfred Peppler (
), which contains Tenerife, Gomera and La Palma. He also likes comments on his map and tracks/waypoints from Tenerife, just like I do), who made this map from 1:50.000 maps. I was given permission to put it up here for all to download (as long as he was mentioned to be the author). This mapset uses the 999 projectcode in the registry.
Comparing it to my own map it has much more small roads (since the original map was 1:50.000 instead of 1:150.000 the reason is obvious) and contour lines. You can zoom in more, and the mapsize is 10 times more than that of my map. =8-)
Update: now at version 2.2. Since version 1.3 with more roadnames and the islands of Gomera and La Palma added. Since version 1.4 Gomera and La Palma are enhanced. Since version 1.5 Hiero is added. Version 1.6 adds corrections, version 1.7 adds Gran Canaria, version 1.8 adds minor updates. Version 1.9 adds Fuertaventura. Version 2.0 adds some small modifications to the maps and now each island is individually selectable. Version 2.1 adds Lanzarote, the last island of the Islas Canarias. Version 2.1a adds several corrections, version 2.2 corrects road names on La Palma.
Please note! To select both the roads and the contours lines, you have to drag-and-select the map tiles, because they are on seperate layers. Just clicking the tiles will only select one or the other layer.
