FAQ: where to report errors? When using your Quest, there are two kinds of error you can come along: bugs in the Quest (see the Quest buglist) or mapping errors. Both can be reported to Garmin, to have them corrected in future versions of te firmware or mapping product. To report an error on the Quests behavior, goto Garmin: Support. You need to enter your personal info, details about your Quest (including the serial number, it's behind the antenna) and details about the error. Be as detailed as possible, so the engineers can reproduce the error. Garmin won't contact you, unless they need more info to solve the error. The newest firmware is on the Garmin Quest Software Update Collection, and you wil find the Quest firmware archive here on this site (in case you need to reload a previous one). If you want to ask about or suggest new features, the Garmin Sales Support-General Inquiry form is the place to be. Not for reporting bugs, but as an example to complain about the missing 20 tracklog memories or ask wether the Quest will support the project waypoint feature. Again, fill in your personal details and be as detailed as possible. Most of the time a Sales represetative will give you a personal reply. To report an error in a mapping product like City Select, goto the Garmin MapSource - Error Report Form. Here you fill in your personal details, details about the GPS and mapping product you use and the details of the error. Examples are: a missing road or feature, a missing turn instruction, a one-way street not recognised or incorrectly named road or feature. Be as detailed as possible and give instructions how to reproduce the error if applicable. Newer versions of Garmin mapping products will come out on a roughly anual basis (for City Select at least) and you will need to pay for them. The Mapsource program can be updated for free from the Garmin MapSource Updates & Downloads page, but it wil not contain any new maps. One final word: be polite. A bug or mapping error is annoying, can even cost you much time when traveling... but at Garmin the work is done by humans and they do make mistakes, just like you or me. Pissing them off is th best way to get your report on the bottom of the stack, being detailed and polite will get your report read carefully and dealt with. =8-)
