FAQ: Why does my V turn off when using it under heavy vibrations? This is mostly happening while using it on a bicycle or motor. You probably are using rechargeable batteries, which are slightly thinner than standard Alkaline batteries. The vibration is making the batteries "shake" inside the battery compartment, causing them to very briefly loosing contact with the battery connectors. Since the V can't function without a power supply, it shuts off immediately. There are a few solutions: Garmin sells a spacer/spring for the batteries which prevents the batteries from loosing contact or you can put a layer of tape around the batteries to stop them from shaking or you can apply external power to the V. |
