Much better than of the speedometer of most cars, at least when going in straight lines and at a constant speed. The V is calculating it's average speed from it's location and/or the doppler shift from the satellites signal over a (few) seconds time, so turns give much lower speeds and acceleration/deceleration is noticed with a small delay.
