HowTo: trackback on a track and calculating an areaArea calculation requires you to have a single track around the area you want to calculate the area for. You can do this by going to the edge of the area, switch on the GPS V and walk/drive/fly along the edge of the area until you reach the starting point. There you turn the V off again.
 | First, press twice to get to the Main Menu. Now scroll to Tracks and press . | | Since trackback and area calculation only works with saved tracks, we scroll to Save and press . | | We are first asked which complete track we want to save. The V gives the option to save all active tracklogs of today marked by time as seperate tracks and the tracks of older tracks as combined tracks per day. Thus, if you want to save one particular track, make sure you do it on the same day. And all tracks are saved completely from beginning to end, so be sure to start a fresh track where appropriate.
Here we only have (a) track(s) from yesterday, so we select that and press . | | The track is saved and now has no more speed and altitude information. Also the V has stripped part of the track points, to save space. The saved track thus is less accurate than an active tracklog. We can also see the area which the track surrounds, the V calculates the area based upon the saved track and connects the beginning of the track with the end when calculating. | | By scrolling to the area field and pressing , you can select what units to display the area in. | | By scrolling to Trackback and pressing , you can trackback on the saved track. You can trackback from the end or from the beginning of the track. |
